A movie a week is all we ask. Well, that and a good cup of coffee...a few sunny days in a row wouldn't hurt either - and a nice bottle of wine every now and again. The movies should be good too...not Hollywood crap, but well-made, smart independent films. For geniuses. That's all.

Tears of the Black Tiger
My favorite review of this so far said, "Unless you've seen this movie, you haven't seen anything like it." It's a Thai Spaghetti Western. It's Technicolor-overdrive. It's funny. There's a midget. Cowboys and robbers and gangs of bad guys. A sad Thai soundtrack. A sad bride-to-be. Betrayal. Fun!

So faithful in its homage that I was sure it was filmed in the 60s. The forced evil laughter, the elaborate perspective of penetrating bullets, the contemplative harmonica playing, the mustaches! One of the strangest films I've ever had the pleasure of viewing.
